Why Shop the Website?
Catalog Shopping OnlineYou
may have noticed that all your favorite shopping catalogs now have websites as
well. So the question becomes, why not stick with the catalog? Why do I want to
shop the website?
I'll tell you why. Bargains for starters.
That
got your attention.
I am a bargain shopper. Clearance is my middle name.
I never see why I should pay more.
Most catalog companies have deals on
their website you can't get in the wish book. I'll explain.
Let's say
Company A has 100 green shirts and 25 blue pants they want to move out. It's
not worth the print investment to list those few pants. Better to give the
catalog space to the shirts.
But they can put them on the website along
with the shirts and get rid of the whole lot.
There are always more
deals on the website than just browsing the catalog will reveal. Whenever
possible, I have added links directly to the Clearance section of recommended
websites, mostly because it's the first place I head for myself.
You'll
also find more choices on a catalog company's website. Printing is expensive
and postage is exorbitant. So they have to be conservative and offer fewer
items than they carry.
Also, they can only print this new season's
stuff. How often have you gotten a catalog full of swimsuits when it's still
freezing outside? The company still has plenty of sweaters available, but hey,
it's the Spring Catalog. The fact that it is actually February is
irrelevant!
If you get real lucky, guess what? They've moved some of
those sweaters to Clearance! |
